Purpose Statement: The Idaho Sexual Assault Network is a statewide collaborative network that works to identify sexual violence issues and address training or technical assistance needs in our state.
As a statewide collaborative network, our work will focus on two main goals;
1. To maintain and build the membership of the network.
We want to involve all those who work directly in the anti-violence field. Members may include; survivors, direct service providers, advocates, the judiciary, forensic nurse examiners, law enforcement, prevention specialists, and any others who have an interest and passion in addressing these issues in our state.
2. To develop and deliver a sexual assault curriculum statewide.
Results of the 2007 Statewide Needs Survey stated that there is a need for further sexual assault education and training. To address this need, the network will focus their work on the development of a comprehensive sexual assault curriculum. Topics of the curriculum will include, but are not limited to; the dynamics of sexual assault, historical perspectives, effects of victimization, the role of advocacy, crisis intervention, medical and legal issues.
If you would like to join the network, contact the Idaho Coalition Against Sexual & Domestic Violence at 1-888-293-6118 or 208-384-0419.
